Frequently Asked Questions
Why is the Starter tier free?
We believe every Texas homeowner should have access to tools that help them challenge their property tax assessments. The Starter tier covers everything a single-property homeowner needs.
What's a "project"?
A project represents a specific condition or issue affecting your property's value—like roof damage, foundation cracks, or an aging HVAC system. Each project can include photos, repair estimates, and costs.
Is my data secure?
Yes. We use industry-standard encryption and security practices. Your data is never sold, and your property information stays private unless you choose to share it—for example, by requesting a contractor estimate.
What is comp analysis?
The appraisal district uses comparable sales to justify raising your property value every year. The problem? Their analysis is automated, broad, and assumes every home in your neighborhood is identical. Our comp analysis uses the same data they do—but smarter. We find recent sales of similar properties and dig into the details the county ignores. Did that comp have granite countertops while you have laminate? Two new HVAC units versus your 15-year-old system? We build a side-by-side comparison that shows why those "comparable" sales aren't so comparable after all. Same data, sharper argument.
When will paid tiers be available?
We're focused on perfecting the Starter tier first. Paid tiers will launch when there's demand from homeowners who want more features and landlords who need to manage multiple properties.
What do I do with my protest packet?
Once you finish building your protest packet, you can download the PDF and submit it to your county appraisal district as evidence for your protest. You can file online (if your county supports it), mail it in, or bring it to your Appraisal Review Board (ARB) hearing. The packet organizes all your photos, repair estimates, and property condition details in a professional format that reviewers can easily understand.
What if I don't have a contractor estimate?
No problem. Contractor estimates strengthen your case, but they're not required. You can still document issues with photos and your own cost research. Many homeowners successfully protest using online pricing guides, store quotes, or even reasonable estimates based on comparable repairs in their area.
I don't know where to start—can you walk me through it?
We're building a guided wizard that walks you through the entire process step by step. It'll ask about big-ticket items like your roof, HVAC, foundation, and kitchen—then help you document what needs attention. Coming soon.
